The Impeachment started corrupt. There is no such thing as "cleaning it up" in the second phase. The Senate showing unwillingness to dismiss on it's face shows they plan to continue the corruption. Mitch saying the Senate is more trust worthy to handle this while not dismissing this says he is holding POTUS at bay under false pretenses.
