I think the Senate is still the target.
The moderates, Collins, murkowski, etc are going to vote for witnesses, which means, in the end, they will vote themselves out of re-election. In the end, we win…covfefe!

But that is not the reason the mods are voting for witnesses.
The public does not want witnesses because the public does not want a trial at all.
