From last bread:

Huge Case in the Supreme Court today on the Electoral College!

Supreme Court to decide whether Electoral College voters have a right to differ from state popular vote

Question

Ausfag here.

Is this argument saying the electoral college voters can vote against the people’s choice?

If so, doesn’t that mean in reality that for however many ECs there are, they alone could determine who becomes president?

That would be bizarre.

I understand the EC principle.

Is this saying the people vote A but the EC representing them votes B instead.

Is that right?

If so, why is that even a discussion?

That not democracy.
