You reminded me of something I have noticed, but I'm not sure its directly related to your anagrams.
Fermented food names very commonly have a "k" sound in their names. Even across disparate cultures. Examples: Kimchi (Korean) Sauer Kraut (German), Kefir, Kombucha, Kvass, Pickles (k sound in the middle). Makes me think of a common language at one time.
