the whole page is downloaded then the filters are applied
it actually takes longer if you filter, due to the extra processing before page is complete

I have old machine and slow connect
cannot use "update" as the page gets over a couple hundred posts it can take longer to update than just simply reload the whole page
in any case the extra processing to filter cannot happen in zero time and some if not all of a post must be downloaded to filter it….
