The best way is to have access to a vocational training facility, Carpentry,welding,masonry,Electrical wiring, etc.

If you don't have access to Vocational training, get out and hit the street, ask around where the house building is going on, go visit these job sites and ask about work. Commercial sites in downtown areas, walk up to the job trailer/office and ask the same thing.

Tell them you don't know anything and you need a job, most places could use a cleanup guy and thats how things get started!

There are also Worker rental places(Day Laborers)you can go work for by the day, they have varying names from state to state.

You can go apply there and need no exp to be a day laborer.

Those jobs will be everything under the sun from construction to yard maintenance to anything really!

My Father told me to stay away from Unions but I worked a Local Capenters Union for a few months once, had to pay $350 to just be able to work, good money for sure. The few months I worked that union I never once touched a Skilsaw, never wore a tool bag, we set up booths in a civic center for shows.
