Gold and Diamond and Cognitive 'Sploits
In the Sitchin mythology humans were anthropoid apes created to mine gold and subsequently had their intelligence augmented by genetic manipulation and information injections.
The gold, according to Sitchin, was urgently required on the home planet because it was the only way to protect life from a harmful energy emitted by the local sun.
details may be imprecise but the gold was (I think) used in the atmosphere the home planet.

Sumeria myth talks about "me" that were gifts of enki. A "me" is both knowledge of and ability to do something.
If you got the music 'me' from Enki you'd understand composition and be able to play the instruments.

Mind virus
The "me" were transmitted by "Nam Shub" communications that were both incantation and instruction. All Nam Shub have certain characteristics in common.
