If you are attacked publicly and are legally carrying a firearm you are in the right to use it, anon. Someone stealing from you is an illegal attack and you are justified to defend yourself and your property. If they keep trying to take it AFTER you have pulled your gun and given proper warning, then their dumbass deserves what they get.
