39 Broadway is the site of the 2nd residential address of Pres. George Washington. He occupied it from February 23 to August 30, 1790, during New York City's two-year term as the national capital. Original building long gone but a plaque was placed there in '39 by the D.A.R. to commemorate it's days as the 'Alexander Macomb House'.
