Loud noises, low-flying planes reported as military arrives at RDU

Raleigh/Durham Airport - North Carolina

A spokesperson from the airport confirmed that 12 military planes stayed at the airport overnight. Additional details were not provided.

Arrived Saturday night, departed Sunday morning.

This is odd.

Fort Bragg (Army) is home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces, located in Fayetteville, NC., only 75 miles from RDU airport.

1- Why would the Navy not station the 12 F/A18 Hornets overnight at Fort Bragg?

2- The pic posted in the article is an Air Force (transport?) aircraft. Tagged: "Fort Bragg troops board a plane bound for the Middle East."
