Your theory is correct, thought experiment: If the sun were to suddenly disappear all planets would move into space on a tangent of their orbit instantly. Another words earth would not continued in it's orbital path for 8 more minutes waiting for gravity to reach the earth.
From this point forward. But it's probably not retroactive. (It's not like, "Forget what you know".
Well I kinda argue with the 4 dimensions, because you can perceive the 5 but it takes practice. Why: In the 4th dimension time is a line, and you can move along the timeline forward and backwards but their really no now. I say that because identify now's location or speed. In the 5th dimension time is not a line, it's all now and you can perceive everything all at once but its difficult to stay there. And the hard part is remembering everything that you saw when you were there.
Problem is once you have the patent, produce or manufacture a product from it, you can't forget or erase what you already know. You may be able to receive damages though. You may also be able to improve on your original patent, lets say make a few unique changes, and then produce your product with your new patented changes, which technically, would be something new and not exactly like the old patent.
