Eisenhower was anti-war and practical about the waste of money; Like POTUS and like MLK,jr. MLK jr. made a famous anti-war speech against the Vietnam war, soon before he died, said the young men should be given a life at home, in their neighborhood and not have the same money spent to send them overseas to die and become maimed.
