"Way back when" I've known white supremacists / neo-nazis. (The ones I knew were "Sons of Odin") They are quite sincere in what they do and fully aware of the risks they are taking and why. Enrollment is by referral only and the person making the referral is fully responsible for the initial vetting … but a new person would be under a cloud for quite a while.
