It is quite possible that some lodges have been infiltrated by bad actors. I cannot speak for them or say anything about them or verify that infiltration is true.

All I can say is stay wary of propaganda. If you know a freemason ASK him to become a freemason. He will most likely help you become one unless he does not find you fit to become one.. Like if you are greatly immoral, maybe a murderer or a liar.
