Trump Announces U.S. Will Join ‘One Trillion Trees’ Initiative
Trump surprised the international ecological community with a pledge to join the One Trillion Trees initiative to fight climate change.
In 2019’s World Economic Forum, ecologist Dr. Thomas Crowther posited that planting 1.2 trillion trees could compensate for global CO2 emissions. Now, the U.S. will officially join the effort to preserve the planet. “We’re committed to conserving the majesty of God’s creation and the natural beauty of our world,” Trump said.
Trump called himself “a very big believer in the environment,” after recently explaining to reporters that he no longer believes climate change is a hoax. “Nothing’s a hoax about that. It’s a very serious subject,” he told reporters two weeks ago. “I want clean air; I want clean water. I want the cleanest air with the cleanest water. The environment’s very important to me.”

Chief Justice Rebukes Lawyers in Senate Impeachment Trial: Remember Where You Are
Chief Justice John Roberts rebuked House impeachment managers and White House counsel early Wednesday morning after House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler accused the president’s lawyers of lying.
After Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) weighed in, repeating a false claim that President Donald Trump had claimed that Article II of the Constitution gave him the right to do whatever he wanted, Chief Justice Roberts intervened:
I think it is appropriate at this point for me to admonish both the House managers and the president’s counsel in equal terms to remember that they are addressing the world’s greatest deliberative body. One reason it has earned that title is because its members avoid speaking in a manner, and using language, that it not conducive to civil discourse. In the 1905 Swayne trial, a Senator objected when one of the managers used the word, “pettifogging.” And the presiding officer said the word ought not to have been used. I don’t think we need to aspire to that high a standard, but I do think that those addressing the Senate should remember where they are.”

Nadler began by accusing the White House counsel of lying — a striking breach that would likely have been disciplined in any ordinary court of law. “They lie,” he claimed. “And lie, and lie, and lie,” he repeated.
Nadler went on to argue that if the Senate voted against the Democrats’ proposed amendment to a procedural resolution — which would only accelerate the decision on Bolton to an earlier stage of the trial — they would be “voting against the United States.”
