As for the rules for Impeachment they must be presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Only a Chief Justice can oversee an impeachment hearing. Now, with that said the Chief Justice is also the head of the FISA Court which means Chief Justice Roberts must have signed all the FISA warrants against Trump's campaign and Presidency.
And as We Know Chief Justice Roberts who voted in favor of Obamacare is most likely blackmailed by the DeepState. Therefore, if your goal is to remove him as Chief Justice one would simply declassify the FISA warrants during the Impeachment hearings as this would present itself as a clear and obvious conflict of interest. The next step would be to vote for a new Chief Justice before the hearings could continue.
This becomes a two birds with one stone situation. On one hand you get disclosure and transparency and on the other you get rid of a crooked Justice.
