Sea level data ALTERED by scientists to create false impression of rising oceans

A scientific paper published by a team of Australian researchers has revealed a startling find: Scientists at the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) have been “adjusting” historical data regarding tide levels in the Indian Ocean. Their “highly questionable” activities have depicted rapidly rising seas — but the truth is that there is no reason to be alarmed at all. Scientists have found that sea levels are stable — and have been for the entirety of the 20th century.

To put it simply, these PSMSL “scientists” have been arbitrarily changing their data in order to create the illusion of a problem that doesn’t actually exist.

According to the Australian research team, sea levels in the Indian ocean have remained stable for decades. Dr. Albert Parker and Dr. Clifford Ollier recently published their astounding research in the journal Earth Systems and Environment; their extensive research gives an in-depth look at how this massive deception was undertaken.

PSMSL “realigned” stable sea level trends

As the researchers report, there are multiple lines of evidence that show sea levels in the Indian Ocean are completely stable. Further, the scientific duo explains that the data-adjusters at PSMSL were taking “misaligned or incomplete” sea level data (which showed no rise in sea levels, or even decreasing sea levels) and “realigning” them.

As Parker and Ollier contend, “It is always highly questionable to shift data collected in the far past without any proven new supporting material.” But what makes the PSMSL’s data shifts even more questionable is the fact that older datasets were adjusted to look lower while all newer sets of sea level data were re-configured to appear higher. When these arbitrary adjustments are taken together, it creates the appearance of a significant and concerning rise in sea levels — one that is entirely artificial.

Several Democratic Senators were reportedly thinking of having Hunter Biden testify in Trump’s impeachment trial in exchange for the testimony from John Bolton.

Joe Biden just shot that down by saying there won’t be a deal to have his son testify because he believes it would be a “farce” and “political theater”.

Watch below as Joe Biden wiggles his way out of why he won’t have Hunter testify:

ICE removes Kazakhstan national convicted of weapons trafficking to Russia

PHILADELPHIA — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) removed Eldar Rezvanov on Jan. 16, to his home country of Kazakhstan via commercial aircraft.

Rezvanov was convicted for international arms trafficking by exporting defense articles without obtaining a license or authorization.

Rezvanov and his coconspirator attempted to conceal the export of the firearms and firearm parts by using aliases to purchase the components and by providing false information on federal forms about the final destination of the articles. They smuggled the firearms and firearm parts onto overseas flights using false shipping inventories and concealed the disassembled firearm components by taping them to metal kitchen utensils before shipping them overseas

“This individual took advantage of the many opportunities this country granted him,” said ICE Philadelphia Field Office Director Simona Flores-Lund. “Eldar Rezvanov started out as an international student, and three years later he was attempting to export an incredible number of firearms and ammunition to Russia. Thanks to our local and federal partners, this individual has served time and is now removed from the United States.”

Report: Hunter Biden Prepping for Impeachment Testimony, ‘Going Over Every Fine Detail’

Hunter Biden, the youngest son of former Vice President and presidential candidate Joe Biden, is reportedly “prepping” at his Hollywood Hills residence for potential testimony in the Senate’s impeachment trial.

“Hunter is taking no chances, he knows that he could get called as a witness any day so he wants to be fully prepared, he’s going over every fine detail,” a source told the Daily Mail on Wednesday.

“He’s taking the trial very seriously and wants to make sure he’s ready for whatever the Republicans throw at him,” the source added.

Biden, whose business activities in Ukraine are at the center of the impeachment trial, has been floated as a possible witness in exchange for former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton, according to The Washington Post. However, Democrat leaders poured cold water on the idea yesterday, arguing that the younger Biden is not a material witness.

“I think that’s off the table. First of all the Republicans have the right to bring in any witness they want. They haven’t wanted to and that trade is not on the table,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told reporters when asked about a Biden-Bolton swap.

UK Dealers Are Scrambling to Make Sense of ‘Burdensome’ Anti-Money Laundering Regulations Quietly Passed Over Christmas

Art dealers around the UK returning from their holiday breaks this week are in for a rude awakening. A new set of regulations designed to combat money laundering snuck through parliament just before Christmas, and are taking effect today.

The new rules involve a slew of onerous administrative requirements, enhanced due diligence checks on clients, as well as the reporting of any suspicious transactions to the government. Amid the scrum, fears are mounting that the new requirements could disproportionately affect small businesses and make the London art market less attractive.

“There is going to be quite a significant change in the way that business is done in a number of organizations that is contrary to a lot of the current market practices,” Kenneth Mullen, a partner at the Withers law firm, tells Artnet News.

Mission Control

The Space Domain Mission Unit will launch in April and will be a part of Japan’s Air Self-Defense Force. Initially, it will have a staff of approximately 20 people at Fuchū Air Base, but that number will increase following a full launch in 2022.

The Space Domain Mission Unit will be tasked with defending Japanese satellites from attacks, as well as “conduct[ing] satellite-based navigation and communications for other troops in the field, rather than being on the ground,” the AP reports.

The spectacle of corruption in Angola

The current furore about the wealth of ‘Africa’s richest woman’, Isabel dos Santos, and how she acquired it, is only the latest part of a long-running saga of corruption and oligarchy in Angola.

In a very real way, Angola is one side of a trans-Atlantic sphere of inequality. Brazil is the other. Both countries were Portuguese colonies and Portuguese remains the official language of both, and both countries uphold propaganda language to communicate to the people. As a result, Angolan elections have television advertising campaigns almost entirely crafted by Brazilian agencies. They are slick and psychologically astute, always appealing in a soap-like fashion to the everyman and the underdog. The idea is that the chasm between rich and poor can be bridged – although it never is, as Angola’s wealth disparity is a mirror of Brazil’s.

The Seven Sisters: The Great Oil Companies and the World They Shaped

Oilmen are like cats; you can never tell from the sound of them whether they are fighting or making love” – Calouste Gulbenkian

  1. Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (now BP)

  2. Gulf Oil (later part of Chevron)

  3. Royal Dutch Shell

  4. Standard Oil Company of California (now Chevron)

  5. Standard Oil Company of New Jersey (Esso, later Exxon, now ExxonMobil)

  6. Standard Oil Company of New York (Socony, later Mobil, also now part of ExxonMobil)

  7. Texaco (later merged into Chevron)

These seven companies – five American, one British, one Anglo-Dutch – had all become major powers in the oil industry before the ‘twenties. There were many others, including the other offspring of the Rockefeller’s Standard Oil, that were to play important roles. But it was the seven ‘majors’ who were to dominate the world oil business in the following decades, and to become new kinds of industrial organization – in some respects the forerunners of the modern multinational corporation. Each of them soon developed into an ‘integrated oil company’ controlling not only its own production, but also transportation, distribution and marketing. With their own fleets of tankers, they could soon operate across the world in every sector of the industry, from the ‘upstream’ business of drilling and producing at the oilfields, to the ‘downstream’ activity of distributing and selling at the pumps or the factories. And each company strove, with varying success, to be self-sufficient at both ends, so that their oil could flow into their tankers through their refineries to their filling-stations.

European high court to review PNR-based travel surveillance

The highest court of the European Union will be reviewing the legality of the directive adopted by the EU in 2017 requiring airlines to send Passenger Name Record (PNR) data to the government of each EU member state, and requiring each EU member state to establish a “Passenger Information Unit” to carry out PNR-based surveillance and profiling of air travelers.

National courts first in Belgium and more recently in Germany have referred questions concerning the legality under European Union human rights law of government access to and use of Passenger Name Records (PNRs) to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

The legal case challenging the “transposition” of the EU PNR directive into Belgian law was brought by the League des Droits Humains (LDH). We reported last year on the lawsuit in Germany that led to the latest referral to the CJEU. That legal case is part of the NoPNR.eu campaign by the Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte (GFF) in Germany and epicenter.works – Plattform Grundrechtspolitik in Austria, funded in part by a grant from the Digital Freedom Fund (DFF) for impact litigation. Cases brought in Austria as part of the same campaign may also lead to referrals to the CJEU.

What’s Barry Diller doing? Expedia not seeking new CEO following Mark Okerstrom’s abrupt departure, report says

Expedia Group has been quiet about the status of its leadership following the abrupt departures of CEO Mark Okerstrom and CFO Alan Pickerill in early December. A new report indicates the company is in no hurry to find a replacement chief executive.

Business Insider reported that Barry Diller, the media mogul and Expedia chairman told employees at an all-hands meeting last month the company isn’t looking for a replacement CEO. Diller and vice chairman Peter Kern are running day-to-day operations at the company right now.

The company cited a disagreement between Okerstrom and Pickerill and Expedia’s board over an ambitious reorganization that aimed to unify Expedia’s brands and technology as the reason for their departures.
