Prince Philip the upcoming FF? He turned 98 June 2019. No Big State Ceremony, yet although Prince Philip has decided to have a quieter funeral, Heads of State are expected to attend. Would we just send VP Pence?

Instead of the usual state funeral, Philip has decided to have a quieter ceremony so as to avoid a “fuss”.

He would be eligible for a state funeral which includes a military procession and is fairly extravagant but has decided against this.

Plans for a more muted ceremony will be co-ordinated with the Lord Chamberlain’s Office at Buckingham Palace and are likely to take place in Windsor Castle at St George’s Chapel.

This location has seen several weddings of late, and the funeral service held will be military-style.

Close friends, family and Commonwealth countries’ heads of state are expected to attend.
