Dust explosion involving aluminium dust? I've heard of similar explosions. The primary explosion could have been minor but the sootfall of dust from the building being shaken will have caused a secondary explosion that took the roof off. Nasty, I hope that there are no fatalities.
The explosion happened at TPC Group at Port Neches and involves butadiene, a chemical used to make plastics. 1 dead and several injured so far.
TPC Group also had explosions at Port Neches on 27th November 2019, according to the CSB website. They are going to be the subject ofvanother investigation while the November 2019 one is still running.
