From my research, it seems to be part of their belief system – which is that they believe they can be free of God's rules/restrictions by alligning themselves with a different "god" (Satan). They see God as oppressive unjust, and they beliee Satan can free mankind from God's bondage. They believe they (or at least the elites) will be totally free of God, if they can usurp the prophecy.
They seem to know a lot of things the rest of us don't. I feel like we're playing catch up. Hell, they know more about me than I know about myself.
I should make it clear that I stand against them with every fiber of my being, and I think they're sick and deluded and lost. I'm just saying that they have managed to keep incredible secrets for themselves which have vast power and they do know things that we don't. In that respect I don't see them as stupid, but I do see them as evil in need of eradication.
