In the 1990s, Dr Bob Beck talked of the threat from bio-engineered viruses and came up with a “blood electrifier” device that did a good job of weakening a wide spectrum of viruses.
So far as I know, no one has tested Beck's device on this new strain of coronavirus, but they are easy and cheap enough to make that it's a good idea to have one on hand just in case.
