Saints to sinners? NFL's New Orleans Saints in court bid to stop release of emails linked to Catholic child abuse scandal
The New Orleans Saints are to argue in court that the public should not be permitted to see emails which allegedly show team executives giving PR advice to the area's archdiocese as it battled child abuse allegations.
Legal representatives of around two dozen men who are in the process of suing the church over allegations of historical child sex abuse have said in court filings that they have obtained 276 documents which appear to show the NFL team assisting the archdiocese of New Orleans with what is claimed to be a "pattern and practice of concealing its crimes."
"Obviously, the Saints should not be in the business of assisting the archdiocese, and the Saints’ public relations team is not in the business of managing the public relations of criminals engaged in pedophilia," attorneys wrote in the court papers.
"The Saints realize that if the documents at issue are made public, this professional sports organization also will be smearing itself."
In reply, Saints attorneys called these claims "outrageous," further saying that the emails - which were sent in 2018 and 2019 - were not intended for public consumption and should not be "fodder for the public." The archdiocese has also noted their opposition to the release of the emails.

In their efforts to squeeze every dime they can from the tax farm, bureaucrats in New York have devised a scheme to extort citizens who wish to use public parks to gaze upon the night sky. This extortion comes in the form of a $35.00 “Stargazing Permit.” If you are from out of state and wish to gaze upon the night sky from one of these locations that fee jumps to $60.

Julian Assange Moved Out of Solitary Confinement After Fellow Prisoners Revolt Against His Mistreatment
Imprisoned WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has reportedly been moved out of solitary confinement in the medical wing of Belmarsh Prison, thanks to a revolt by fellow inmates who petitioned the prison and demanded he receive fair treatment.
Assange is currently imprisoned in London’s highest security prison awaiting a trial, which begins next month, to determine if he will be extradited to the United States.
Assange faces charges under the Espionage Act in the United States for his publication of the Iraq and Afghan War Logs. If extradited and convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of 175 years for the “crime” of publishing material that the US government did not want the population to know.
