It was Jewish folk lore that the Golden Fleece was the cloth that God had prepared when Adam sinned. Thus the fleece was rumored to have supernatural powers.
Story goes the fleece was passed down generations and many of the patriarchs possessed it.
Interesting how did Jacob steal Esau's birthright? Covered himself with what?
One story said Nimrod got this fleece at one point, but then Abraham stole it from him taking with it Nimrod's incredible "Hunter of Men" status.
It's also rumored to be one of the items that resided in the Ark of the Covenant.
A lamb was slain for Adam's sin. So then Adam was covered by The Lamb.
How's that for God level allegory.
