You are smart enough to understand that putting what you have already done in ONE place it is easier to keep track of and others to view versus across myriad General threads over days, all spread out.

1 is concentrated, easier for others to understand, the other is shotgun approach and others can't follow you as well and invites bitching and ignoring the hard work you're putting into it.

Put your work in your dedicated thread, then post in the General what it is and invite others to look at it. The reception will be a lot more positive and you'll likely get better interaction as well.
