Toby Rogers is a PhD who completed a thesis on the economic costs of caring for people with autism. Personally I think there is autism and Autism. True, clinically important Autism can be severely disabling, producing children who are non-verbal and might be wearing diapers at the age of 20. I'm sure some of my characteristics would put me "on the spectrum" by today's standard. However, the threat to the survival of America due to severe autism (Autism, by my definition) is very, very real. I believe that on some level it is a deliberate attempt at genocide.
The mention of a relationship between certain personality types and a decreased ability to detox metal is significant. It does seem that an unborn error of metabolism may persist in heterozygous form if it is associated with a characteristic that enhances survival such as increased intelligence.
