Not a religious question. It is a legal and a science question. Science says the fetus is human. The law doesn’t dispute, rather, it strips the fetus of “personhood,” (see Roe and progeny). All that means is that the fetus has been stripped of basic constitutional rights in order to protect they righhtts of the politically powerful. Period. No due process, no appeal, no restrictions, utter, arbitrary power granted to women for any reason, whatsoever. We don’t have to have North Korea type laws to protect and empower women. Plenty of developed countries with empowered women have much more restrictive abortion laws that we do. Ours are utterly barbaric.
Will out myself as a pregnant, unwed teen back in the day where shame attached. I was the target of EXTREME pressure to abort, including threats to abort or the child's Father would be prosecuted for statutory rape. I refused, was kicked out of my home. Decades later, I am retired lawfag. Much of my legal career was not advocating for kids. I SAW the pressure these girls were Subjected to. Most aborted untimely pregnancies, despite not wanting to. Nearly every single one was pregnant, again, within a year and a half. It was horrible what the kids suffered and continue to suffer after the fact. I am so sick of feckless pro choicers lying to themselves and the world. Give the child up if you must, but don’t pretend aborting it is your only/best option. That’s crap. If I’d have killed my unborn, I’ve no doubt my mental state would have been destroyed. The studies support this.
Kind of the point. Stripping personhood from a human is strictly political. Think slave trade. It’s like that only fetuses have even fewer rights and their body parts are likely worth less on the open market than what slaves used to bring. Repulsive.
