>I get pissed at how little my state see's of it. It all goes to fucking Canada. We get "good paying jobs".
I believe you. Do you know if the extraction process still a secret?
The Carlin-type gold deposits in Nevada

Few know that America's first gold rush occurred along the Eastern Carolina slate belt, which is also a Carlin-like deposit in terms of being rich in arsenopyrite, which acts as a sink for invisible gold. I know of an old mine in NC that pulled more than 70,000 ozs of GOLD out of the first 3 feet of top soil over a period of a few decades during the 1800's. Unlike most other mines discovered in the region, the owner refused to sell out to the Northerners, but instead let all comers dig and sluice for a percentage of the finds. According to all the records, no more than 20 men were working the deposit at any given time and they used mercury to extract the heavies.
