Result. Immediate panic, hoarding and supply chain break down. Doesn't stop the spread because it has already entered the US and traps US citizens abroad, while reducing the time to find a way to treat or vaccinate citizens. Continuity of government planning is made harder.

Scenario 2. Do not release information until it is almost apparent how bad it is. Time has been extended by two to three week for continuity of government planning. The chosen logical thinker on 8kun will be able to see what is going on and many of the few who survive will be from this group, very few liberals.

In the shittest scenario pragmatism allows you to see more clearly. President Trump not addressing the Corona Virus pandemic is likely to be because it is an extinction level event, virus PLUS societal breakdown will have a slow start but a hockey stick acceleration.

Answer: Have food for SIX MONTHS. Quarantine yourself from the END of this week and LIMIT your movements THIS week. Move out of population centres. Try to be within 10 miles of an military air base (not airport).
