Maybe they need to aquire a resistance by looking at gradually more and more of those innocuous pictures until they're immune. With enough mental protection, NLP and subliminal messaging gets nowhere.
Will and the power of will are how it works, if you didn't already know.
If someone's will is weak, they will succumb to most any sort of suggestion.
If someone has a strong will, they already know the motives and techniques of their enemy and are untouchable by their methods.
