With respect to the Omnibus Spending Bill, and to squash rumors and false narratives, I downloaded the entire bill and preformed quite a few searches. Below are my findings.
-
Nowhere in the bill do the words 'Planned Parenthood" appear in any accepted form of capitalization. However, section 202 reads as follows:
"SEC. 202. None of the funds appropriated by this title
20 shall be available to pay for an abortion, except where the
21 life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were car
22 ried to term, or in the case of rape or incest: Provided, That
23 should this prohibition be declared unconstitutional by a
24 court of competent jurisdiction, this section shall be null
25 and void."
-
The words 'Sanctuary City' in any accepted form of capilization do not appear anywhere in the bill, nor do the words 'Sanctuary Cities'. In fact, the word 'Sanctuary' itself appears only once and appears in the section dealing with the prohibition on assistance to governments supporting terrorism.
"(A) grants sanctuary from prosecution to
18 any individual or group which has committed
19 an act of international terrorism;"
Something I found interesting in going through search for the words 'National Defense' was located in Section 105.
"SEC. 105. None of the funds made available in this
25 title shall be used for purchase of land or land easements
(page)1075
•HR 1625 EAH
1 in excess of 100 percent of the value as determined by the
2 Army Corps of Engineers or the Naval Facilities Engineer
3 ing Command, except: (1) where there is a determination
4 of value by a Federal court; (2) purchases negotiated by
5 the Attorney General or the designee of the Attorney Gen
6 eral; (3) where the estimated value is less than $25,000; or
7 (4) as otherwise determined by the Secretary of Defense to
8 be in the public interest."
The part that really caught my eye were exceptions (2) and (4). One interpretation of this is that the AG and SoD can authorize purchases of land as long as such purchases do not exceed 100% of the value of said land.
Does this give Sessions and Mattis the authorization to use these funds for purchase of land along the border? More legaleze savvy Anons might be able to clarify this.
Here is another interesting gem I don't think the Deep State noticed:
"20 SEC. 108. None of the funds made available in this
21 title may be used for the procurement of steel for any con22
struction project or activity for which American steel pro23
ducers, fabricators, and manufacturers have been denied the
24 opportunity to compete for such steel procurement."
Meaning, to my mind, that the military HAS to give American steel companies a chance to compete for any steel contracts needs. Meaning they can't skirt around the American steel companies.
