Planet crypton

On Jan. 13, Hip-hop performer Akon announced via social media an agreement with the government of Senegal to build an eponymously-named city of the future in the West African nation. The singer and rapper, who has penned more than a dozen Billboard top 10 hits including โ€œSmack that,โ€ declared last year that Akon City would operate exclusively on a new cryptocurrency called AKoin (thanks to Emma Muhleman for sending this in). Akon expects the futuristic crypto city, which is to be built on 2,000 acres of land gifted by the Senegalese government, to be ready by 2025.

According to its website, Akon Crypto City โ€œlends leading Smart City planning designs with a blank canvas for cryptonizing our daily human and business exchanges, with the goal of inventing a radical new way of existence.โ€

Law Enforcement has a formal, congressionally approved cooperation agreement with NTSB.

Recurring fixtures at the site of a transportation accident are the dark blue jackets with bold yellow lettering of the investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). What may escape our attention, though, are the jackets with lettering or insignia signifying organizations other than the NTSB or emergency first responders. These include law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Transportation (DOT) modal administrations, Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and state and local law enforcement entities. In this context, โ€œlaw enforcementโ€ is used to refer to both criminal and regulatory enforcement activities.
