Hamilton Fish III - Volunteer to lead negro only unit in WW1. Fish's unit had a mid-sea accident and wasn't given a destroyer escort. Something he complained to Roosevelt about. Did they try to take him out? His unit spent 191 days on the front lines, which was the longest of any American regiment. Starting to look like someone didn't like Major Fish. His sister Janet, a nurse, had also been sent to the front. Fortunately both survived and both were inducted into the French Legion of Honor.
Fish was a fervent anti-communist.
