*At least eight people died and 35 boats were destroyed by the blaze along the Tennessee River Monday

*Seven people jumped off the boats as the fire in the middle of dock at Lake Guntersville, Jackson raged and have been hospitalized with minor burns

*A total of 17 agencies responded to the scene 12.30am as people woke to popping noises and screams

*A witness said: 'Within 15 to 20 minutes, the whole dock was in flames. All these boats have propane tanks and gas tanks, and that’s a lot of fire'

*Agencies used sonar technology to search the water and the death toll is expected to rise as the collapsed wooden dock and an aluminum roof covered many of the vessels
