Was thinking today that things might be a bit better in Congress (both chambers) if all the party related positions (majority/minority leader, whip, and etc) and all party caucuses were abolished and collusion behind the scenes in Congress was made illegal.

Of course this is just a pipe dream and flies against freedom of speech and assembly, but consider how the current practice puts our elected officials primarily subject to party orders rather than serving their actual constituents.

This type of party imposed collusion should not be business as usual and should be curtailed, if not outlawed.

Any pol or law fags out there have an idea how to get this done without violating the constitution?

In my location, local school board members are prohibited from contact with more than one other board member outside of a published public meeting. This to avoid sweetheart deals behind the scenes and the appearance of impropriety.

Could a similar open meetings act for HR and Senate accomplish the same thing?
