He made it all up and Eric C is just a patsy or fall guy(messenger who never created the message).

This is why they are so protective of Eric.

This is why YouTube protects Eric C because if he were to take the stand and be questioned nothing would add up. There would be major discrepancies/conflicts of interests because Eric C never wrote it [AS] did.
