Ah, that explains it. After time away and returning - different anons here, more international, many got jobs so spend less time here than they used to. Many inside jokes and experiences have tied some anons together, which you were absent for and so it could engender some lack of familiarity. If you look carefully, every image on a post has the (h) and (u).
IIRC, it used to have something to do with being able to reverse search the image on tineye and something else, but since 8kun those features don't work.
