If there is a lawfag here, I really want to know what will happen if Schiff REFUSES to testify as a witness?
What happens then?
What is the recourse for the Senate at that point?

Thank you, that's pretty much what I expected. To clarify, my question was regarding Schiff as a witness - at the end, after Wed & Thurs question days, on Fri when the full Senate votes y/n on witnesses in general and then each witness the parties want to call.
I think your answer would apply to that as well.
If the D's are voted down and the vote carries Schiff to be called as a material/fact witness Roberts would have to rule. I wonder if he's thought about that and prepared anything in advance (or now) in case that comes up?
Rhetorical question of course.
Good for you for being open minded.
