Rings are often passed on from one to another, to custom fit it would not cost much.

 

I, for example, was personally asked to receive a similar ring but I passed on the offer until the wearer passed on himself.

 

Maybe the gloves didn't fit at initiation and they had to order custom ones.

 

But t-shirt and jeans.. That's a big no no…

A lot of the symbolism is done through the initiators clothes. Masonry is all about tradition. To break tradition at initiation is a big no no.

 

But each lodge has their own ways of doing things. I just cannot see this being done in the lodges close to me.
