President Trump Eviscerates John Bolton: ‘If I Listened to Him, We Would Be in World War Six by Now’

President Trump tore into his former national security advisor Ambassador John Bolton on Wednesday, saying he fired Bolton for giving such bad advice that “if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now”

Bolton has written a book about his tenure at the Trump White House, the contents of which were allegedly leaked to the New York Times under suspicious circumstances after the manuscript was submitted to the National Security Council for review of possible secret material. The leaks accuse Trump of wanting to tie aid to Ukraine with investigations into the Bidens and the Democrats and that Bolton thought Trump was doing favors for foreign leaders.

“For a guy who couldn’t get approved for the Ambassador to the U.N. years ago, couldn’t get approved for anything since, “begged” me for a non Senate approved job, which I gave him despite many saying “Don’t do it, sir,” takes the job, mistakenly says “Libyan Model” on T.V., and…..many more mistakes of judgement, gets fired because frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now, and goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book. The alleged leaks of Bolton’s book manuscript has given hope to Democrats that the need four Republicans will join them to vote for Bolton to testify at the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump when the issue comes up, likely at the end of this week following the question sessions of the trial.

The ‘Libyan Model’ Trump referred to was about Bolton saying in interviews that the U.S. was pursuing the denuclearization of North Korea along the successful model of Libya in 2004 under the Bush administration.

Bolton made one reference to the Libya Model on Fox News Sunday on April 29, 2019.

WALLACE: OK. So, let’s talk about your position, the U.S. position going in, what the U.S. wants from Kim. Will President Trump insist that Kim give up, ship out, all of his nuclear weapons, all of his nuclear fuel, all of his ballistic missiles, before the U.S. makes any concessions?

BOLTON: Yes, I think that’s what denuclearization means. We have very much in mind the Libya model from 2003, 2004. There are obviously differences. The Libyan program was much smaller, but that was basically the agreement that we made.

Unfortunately for the hopes of America and the world in getting nations to relinquish their nuclear weapons and abandon nuclear weapons programs, President Obama and his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton orchestrated the overthrow of the Libyan government a few years later, creating an enormous disincentive for other regimes to follow the Libyan Model.

Trump’s ‘deal of the century’ is about ignoring Palestinian rights & legitimizing Israel’s occupation – Turkish President Erdogan

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has blasted a plan for resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict presented by Donald Trump, saying the proposal is a blatant attempt to ‘legitimize Israel’s occupation’ of Palestinian territories.

Erdogan, a long-time critic of Israeli policies, lashed out at the US-proposed roadmap in a Wednesday interview with journalists who were accompanying him on his return from a three-country visit to Africa.

“This is the plan to ignore the Palestinians’ rights and legitimize Israel’s occupation,” Erdogan said, as quoted by Anadolu Agency.

The remark is in line with criticisms voiced earlier by other Turkish officials. The Foreign Ministry branded Trump’s plan “stillborn” and said it was aimed at “killing the two-state solution and stealing Palestinian lands.”

An astute Gateway Pundit reader noticed these on the @openletterbot on Twitter, which republishes everything people send to the Senators and Representatives, as they become public record at that point.

All of these letters just repeat the same ambiguous thing over and over, and attach a different name on them.

It’s unknown whether these are real people sending each one in individually, or if it’s one person or automated system sending them out, but they all have the same text:

RT correspondent seriously injured by blast while filming jihadists’ ammo depot in Syria

Wafa Shabrouney, a correspondent of RT Arabic, has been injured while on assignment in northwestern Syria. A shell left behind by militant fighters exploded while she and her crew were nearby.

The incident happened in Maarat al-Numan, a Syrian city located some 33km south of Idlib, the capital of the last major stronghold of jihadist forces in northwestern Syria. Shabrouney and her crew were covering the aftermath of the takeover of the city by Damascus in the last several days.

According to her cameraman, they went to an ammo depot left behind by retreating militants. A shell accidentally detonated nearby, seriously injuring Shabrouney.

She received emergency medical treatment in Khan Shaykhun, a city some 20km south, before being taken to a hospital in Hama.

‘Major defeat for the US’: Backlash at home & abroad for BoJo’s govt after allowing Huawei a role in 5G network rollout

The UK government’s decision to allow Chinese telecoms giant Huawei to continue working on Britain’s 5G networks – with ‘restricted’ access – has provoked anger from high profile figures in both the UK and the US.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the UK government said Britain’s National Cyber Security Centre has recommended that they limit access to “high-risk vendors,” such as Huawei, who will continue the 5G rollout across the country.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab issued a statement in the UK Parliament fending off criticism, and claiming that the government was “establishing one of the strongest regimes for telecoms security anywhere in the world.”

The UK has been under increasing pressure from Washington to block Huawei, including the latter warning that allowing the Chinese company to play a role could threaten US-UK intelligence sharing. The apparent defiance in the face of Washington’s wishes has triggered anger from Conservative Party loyalists, UK opposition parties, and US politicians.

Former Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith insisted that allowing Huawei to help build 5G is a “mistake,” because “we are in a cyber war with China.” The MP for Chingford and Woodford Green added that it “beggars belief” that the UK government would allow the Chinese firm to the country’s network.

Since Democrats took control of Virginia's state Legislature earlier this year, their efforts to clamp down on citizens' Second Amendment rights have made national headlines. However, Democrat-led efforts to undo protections for the unborn are also currently making their way to becoming law in the Old Dominion as well.

The Associated Press reported that the Virginia House approved a bill Tuesday that would remove multiple abortion restrictions, including a 24-hour waiting period for abortion procedures and a requirement that women seeking abortions get an ultrasound beforehand. The measure would also end a requirement that only doctors can perform abortions in the state, thereby allowing nurse practitioners to perform them as well. It passed 52-45 with one Democratic legislator voting against it and two abstaining.

"The Reproductive Health Protection Act passed the House today and is headed over to the Senate," Democratic House Majority Leader Charniele Herring — who introduced the bill — tweeted after the vote. "I am proud to carry this bill, and happy to see medical decisions out of the hands of legislators and into the hands of women and their clinicians."

Abortion proponents celebrated the House's vote.

In a tweet following the vote, NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia said that it was "thrilled" about the House's passage of the bill "and that legislators understand that the majority of Virginians trust a woman to make her own healthcare decisions."

China Claims Wuhan Virus Spread Is Miraculously Declining, Defying Experts

China’s National Health Commission claimed on Wednesday the rate of infection for the new deadly coronavirus originating in central Wuhan city is miraculously declining, directly contradicting estimates by public health experts the spread will continue to accelerate and peak only after a few months and finally begin declining in the summer.

Researchers at Northeastern University and the University of Hong Kong issued separate statements Tuesday predicting the outbreak will take at the very least months to subside. Both estimated the real number of people infected by the virus is in the tens of thousands, a far cry from the 6,151 cases worldwide that the Chinese Communist Party and World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed at the end of Wednesday.

The Global Times, a Chinese state propaganda outlet, claimed on Wednesday authorities had found a “gleam of hope” in ten provinces that documented a slower rate of infection than they had the day before. It notably included Hong Kong and Macau, autonomous regions that have imposed different measures from those in China, and Taiwan, a sovereign state with no ties to Beijing, in its count of “provinces” that saw a decline in transmission.

The Global Times also claimed the number of cases documented on Tuesday in Hubei province, where Wuhan is located, was lower than the number of cases on Monday.

“On January 28, 840 new cases of pneumonia were reported in Hubei province. On the 27th, however, there were 1,291 newly reported cases,” the Times claimed.

The Times also alleged 103 people had made full recoveries from carrying the coronavirus.

At press time, Chinese authorities have documented 6,061 cases of coronavirus infection within its borders. Of those, 132 people have died, all within China. Scientists contend, however, that this number is significantly smaller than the actual number of people infected. Northeastern University estimates suggest that as many as 25,000 people are currently infected within China alone. University of Hong Kong’s medical school nearly doubled that amount, revealing that its mathematical estimates reveal as many as 44,000 people in China alone are carriers.

Gabriel Leung, head of the Hong Kong University’s medical school, urged world governments to take “draconian measures” to stop the virus from spreading.

Huawei Fallout: US Secretary of State Flies to UK Over 5G Decision

The Secretary of State of the United States will fly to the United Kingdom to discuss Boris Johnson’s controversial decision to allow Huawei to help build the nation’s 5G infrastructure. The move by the UK is seen as a possible stumbling block in future trade negotiations with the U.S. as well as jeopardising intelligence sharing between the two powers.

On Wednesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will meet with his UK counterpart Dominic Raab and Prime Minister Boris Johnson to outline the American position on the UK’s decision to grant 5G access to the Chinese tech giant, which critics say will give the Chinese Communist Party a ‘back door’ into Britain’s security apparatus.

The State Department said that Mr Pompeo’s trip will “reaffirm the special relationship following the UK’s departure from the EU and discuss ways to broaden and deepen trade ties”, according to the BBC.

Ahead of the UK’s Huawei decision, Mr Pompeo suggested that the move would jeopardise the sovereignty of the United Kingdom and that the U.S. “won’t be able to share information” with any nation that allows Chinese access into its networks.

The UK Culture Secretary, Baroness Morgan of Cotes, dismissed fears that allowing a Chinese-owned firm to work on the nation’s 5G infrastructure would endanger the Five Eyes intelligence-sharing agreement that has been in place since the Second World War.

“Our relationship with the U.S. and our other Five Eyes partners is incredibly important,” she said.

“There is nothing in the decision taken yesterday that would affect our ability to share the most classified data with the U.S. or our other allies,” added Baroness Morgan.

Liberal Zionists decry Trump plan as an existential threat to ‘Jewish democracy’

When Donald Trump announced his “peace plan” this afternoon, rightwing lobbyists for Israel crowded the room, including Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, John Hagee, Joe Lieberman, Malcolm Hoenlein, Alan Dershowitz, and Ron Lauder.

But if rightwing supporters love Trump’s plan to give Israel sovereignty over much of the West Bank, including Jerusalem, liberal and centrist American Zionists are horrified. They regard the plan as an existential threat to “the Jewish democracy.” These Israel supporters say the plan will move Israel toward annexing much of the West Bank, thereby ending any possibility of a two-state solution and leading to a binational state in which Palestinians will demand equal rights.

These Zionists are responding with alarm and rage to the plan and, joined by many leading Democrats, announcing plans to fight its implementation.

Anti-Macron Firefighters Violently Clash With Police in Paris

Anti-Macron firefighters violently clashed with police in Paris, while protesting for better pay, staff increases and protection from violent attacks.

Several thousand firefighters from across France took to the streets of Paris Tuesday, calling for the right to retire at 57, an increase in their fire bonus to be equivalent to that of the police, an increase in staff and to solidify measure to protect firefighters from attacks, which have been rising over the past year.

The firefighters came dressed in their fire gear and helmets, with some even symbolically setting themselves on fire in protest.

The demonstration, which began peacefully, took a turn for the worse when approximately fifty firefighters began launching fireworks and other projectiles at the police, who responded by firing tear gas at the public servants, according to Le Parisian.

Firefighters also attempted to break through barricades set up around the ring road, leading to fighting between the police and the protestors, three of whom were arrested. Police were also filmed firing water cannons against the firefighters.

Marine Le Pen, the leader of the right-wing populist party Rassemblement National (National Rally), blamed President Emanuel Macron for the “desperate images” of violence on the streets.

“Emmanuel Macron, who managed to throw our police against our #pompiers (firefighters), should reflect on the immense responsibility which is his in the deep disunity of our country”, she wrote on Twitter.

The protest on Tuesday was the second national firefighters’ demonstration in less than four months in the capital after unions mobilized last summer to demand better treatment from the Macron government.

Firefighters in France have increasingly become a target of violence in the ongoing wave of anti-government actions taken against President Macron’s pension reforms. Antifa style groups have targeted firefighters with firebombs and Molotov cocktails.

Frederic Perrin, the head of the SPASDIS-CFTC firefighters union, told the AFP: “We are the final link in the chain of emergency aid in France and we are overwhelmed by callouts.”

“We need the staffing and means to respond to this and also a guarantee that we can concentrate on our core missions, emergency response, and not serve as a supplement to absent health services”, Perrin added.

Former Aussie PM: Conservative Govts Should Support Working Women to Have More Children

Tony Abbott has said conservative governments should do more to help working, middle-class women to have more children because the current birth-rate for that demographic is a “real problem”.

“While I’m all in favour of stay-at-home-mums if that’s their choice, I do think that a properly conservative government, acknowledging that having a family is one of the most wonderful things that anyone can do, would make it easier for women in the workforce to have more kids,” Mr Abbott said at the Centre for Independent Studies in comments reported by The Sydney Morning Herald.

“That is a real problem in every western country: middle-class women do not have enough kids. Women in the welfare system have lots of kids,” Mr Abbott said.

“If you’re very wealthy you can afford to have as many kids as you want,” the former leader of the centre-right Liberal party added, noting it was the squeezed middle-classes struggling most.

If that position sounds extraordinary coming from the former leader of a Western country, that’s because it is. One result of women having fewer children is a slowing or shrinking of the population, but the West has not looked to supporting mothers to solve the problem. Rather, nations like Sweden and Germany have embraced mass migration from the third world to counter their own falling birthrates. In March 2019, statistics revealed that not one EU country’s birthrate was at natural replacement level.

In the UK, August statistics revealed that British birthrates were at their lowest ever on record — however, the population continues to grow, underlying the effect that immigration is having on the demographics of the country. Indeed, deaths of British-born residents last year outstripped births to British-born mothers for only the third time since 1838.

How can colleges fight Israel lobby’s threats?

A right-wing Israel advocacy group has accused progressive professors at a Brooklyn, New York, community college of anti-Semitism.

It is threatening faculty members with legal action based on their perceived support of Palestinian rights.

These accusations are part of an expanding attack on students and faculty at US universities by Israel lobby groups trying to criminalize Palestine solidarity organizing by conflating criticism of Israel with anti-Jewish bigotry.

The Lawfare Project is representing a right-wing professor at Kingsborough Community College who had worked with the group to file a lawsuit against the college in 2016.

The Lawfare Project also threatened to sue members of faculty in October 2018.

The group aims to silence activists, professors and students by filing lawsuits against them and smearing supporters of Palestinian rights as anti-Semites.

The group’s director, Brooke Goldstein, has claimed that there is “no such thing as a Palestinian person.”

Last month, The Lawfare Project filed a federal complaint against Columbia University on behalf of a Jewish Israeli-American student.

The complaint asserts that the student has been a victim of “anti-Semitic discrimination” due to the activities of students and faculty who advocate for Palestinian rights.

Notably, the complaint invokes the executive order signed by President Donald Trump in December, which allows mere accusations of anti-Semitism against critics of Israel on campus to spark lengthy inquisitions by the government and possible restrictions on funding.

Meanwhile, Anthony Alessandrini, one of the accused professors at Kingsborough and a member of the Progressive Faculty Caucus, has been the target of harassment and smears.

In March 2019, Alessandrini, who teaches literature, received an anonymous letter in his college mailbox stating, “This is a warning to you and the other PFC. Watch your back!!!”

He told The Electronic Intifada that he also found graffiti on a flyer on his office door that said “Od Kahane Chai” – Kahane still lives.

Meir Kahane, who founded the violent right-wing Jewish Defense League, advocated for the total expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland.

The Israeli party Kahane co-founded – Kahane Chai, or Kach – is designated by the US State Department as a foreign terrorist organization.

“Red Flag” gun law passed

Proving they don’t care at all about the opinions of the people of Virginia, the state’s Senate passed a “red flag” gun law only two days later. Here’s the summary of SB240.

Creates a procedure by which any attorney for the Commonwealth or any law-enforcement officer may apply to a general district court, circuit court, or juvenile and domestic relations district court judge or magistrate for an emergency substantial risk order to prohibit a person who poses a substantial risk of injury to himself or others from purchasing, possessing, or transporting a firearm. If an emergency substantial risk order is issued, a judge or magistrate may issue a search warrant to remove firearms from such person.An emergency substantial risk order shall expire on the fourteenth day following issuance of the order. The bill requires a court hearing in the circuit court for the jurisdiction where the order was issued within 14 days from issuance of an emergency substantial risk order to determine whether a substantial risk order should be issued.

Seized firearms shall be retained by a law-enforcement agency for the duration of an emergency substantial risk order or a substantial risk order or, for a substantial risk order and with court approval, may be transferred to a third party 21 years of age or older chosen by the person from whom they were seized. The bill allows the complainant of the original warrant to file a motion for a hearing to extend the substantial risk order prior to its expiration. The court may extend the substantial risk order for a period not longer than 180 days.

The bill provides that persons who are subject to a substantial risk order, until such order has been dissolved by a court, are guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor for purchasing, possessing, or transporting a firearm; are disqualified from having a concealed handgun permit; and may not be employed by a licensed firearms dealer. The bill also provides that a person who transfers a firearm to a person he knows has been served with a warrant or who is the subject of a substantial risk order is guilty of a Class 4 felony. Sandy Hook Conspiracy Theorist Arrested, Obtained Personal Info Of Youngest Victim’s Father

Wolfgang Halbig, a 73-year-old man with a history of harassing families who lost loved ones in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, has been charged with possessing the personal ID information of Leonard Poznar, the father of the 6-year-old boy who was the youngest victim of the massacre.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, authorities arrested Halbig in Lake County, Florida, on the first-degree misdemeanor charge of “possession of another person’s personal identification,” which can lead to, at most, a one-year prison sentence. Halbig has since been released on $5,000 bail.

According to The New York Times, Halbig was arrested after he repeatedly emailed Pozner’s social security number and other personal information “to a long list of recipients.” The news agency also reports that Halbig has previously retaliated against Pozner for founding a volunteer network to prevent him from “targeting” the victims’ families.

“We are gratified that prolific Sandy Hook hoaxer and serial harasser of the families of victims Wolfgang Halbig has been arrested,” announced Pozner, who currently lives in hiding. “For five years, he has used my most personal and private details to incentivize and enable other hoaxers and conspiracy theorists to hunt, abuse and terrorize myself and my family.”

“We have a long way to go, but this is a positive step in the right direction,” says Pozner.

Halbig, who previously worked as the manager of a school district in Florida, gained attention among conspiracy theorists for claiming that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which left 20 children and six adults dead, was actually a government hoax involving crisis actors, reports the Sentinel. Halbig also emailed conspiracy theories to radio host Alex Jones approximately 4,000 times over several years, reports the news agency.

According to the Times, Halbig repeatedly filed public records requests with city and state government officials because he wanted to see the murder scene. He also requested clean-up receipts for “bodily fluids, brain matter, skull fragments and around 45 to 60 gallons of blood.”

Utah bill prohibits people behind on child support payments from getting hunting license

If you’re behind on your child support payments, this new Utah bill could prohibit you from hunting or fishing.

H.B. 197, sponsored by Rep. Karianne Lisonbee, would ban people who aren’t up to date on their child support payments from getting a license, permit or tag related to fishing or hunting in the state of Utah.

The bill would prohibit anyone who owes $2,500 or more child support from obtaining the legal permits from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.

US’ Kushner: Palestinians foolish for protesting against US ‘peace plan’

US President Donald Trump’s special adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner slated Palestinians who have gone on strike today in protest against the US “peace deal” for the Middle East which was unveiled yesterday.

In an interview with CNN, Kushner praised the Trump’s plan saying it gives the Palestinians “a pathway to a state, a continuous territory and conditions where they can earn their way to their independence.” He added that it could provide a $50 billion economic plan that could contribute to their prosperity.

“Right now, what’s Palestinian leadership?” he asked. “You’re talking about them like they’re great diplomats — what are they calling for? They’re calling for a day of rage. Who do you know that runs a state that when they don’t get what they want they call for a day of rage?”

“It’s a big opportunity for the Palestinians,” Kushner continued. “And they have a perfect track record of blowing every opportunity they’ve had in their past.”

The so-called “peace plan” allows for broad Israeli annexation and provides for a future Palestinian state which will be subjected to a series of conditions and limitations, with Israel retaining overall security control of the area.

“The Palestinians rejected the plan before they saw it,” Kushner told CNN. “They thought it wasn’t going to be as good as it was so I think they look quite foolish today. Also, one of the great ironies is they keep saying they want to be a state.”

Under the proposal, Trump said Jerusalem “will remain Israel’s undivided capital”, but that a future Palestinian state would also have a “capital in east Jerusalem”, in reference to a neighbourhood of eastern Jerusalem.

University of Missouri implements mandatory student tracking, claims it is for attendance purposes

The University of Missouri is raising serious privacy concerns over a new policy that mandates students install tracking software on their cellphones.

According to the Kansas City Star, the school is using "hidden technology" and a smartphone app to track students — all under the guise of ensuring students attend class.

The tracking, which the university said is for the good of students, will be mandatory for new students arriving on the Columbia, Missouri, campus beginning this spring. The tracking will even be enforced for students who do not have cellphones capable of using the technology.

"A student will have to participate in the recording of attendance," Jim Spain, the vice provost for undergraduate studies, told the Star.

"It's the way of leveraging technology to provide us with timely information," he said.

The app being used is called Spotter, which is billed as "an inclusive solution for helping [the] entire student body to succeed." Missouri athletics has already been using the app for four years in order to keep student-athletes in academic check.

Although the app is intended to track students academically, the location tracking services are not incapable of tracking students outside of the classroom, Campus Reform noted.

Sara Baker, policy director at the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri, said the app is raising privacy concerns.

"We have deep privacy concerns about this," she told the Star, adding that she fears the app could be used for nefarious purposes, such as tracking student activists.

"Any time you use surveillance technology, the question always is who is watching the watcher," she said.

Ex-Israel army chief dismisses Trump’s plan as not ‘even’ a basis for peace

A former intelligence chief of the Israeli army echoed the overwhelming feeling of dismay and condemnation over President Donald Trump’s so-called “peace deal” announced yesterday in Washington.

“It is not a peace plan, and I am not sure that it is even a basis for a peace plan,” Amos Yadlin is reported saying by the Jerusalem Post.

Yadlin, who now works as the executive director of the Institute of National Security Studies (INSS), made the remarks while speaking at an INSS conference. In his remark about the long-awaited deal he acknowledged that the parameters of the deal were fantastic for Israel, but also admitted that “the concessions for the Palestinians” were not enough to get them to agree to the concessions they are required to make.

Explaining the reason for Palestinian dismissal of the plan he said that they, “have rejected, condemned and refused to even join the dialogue to have talks,” because the deal is so much less than what they have been offered in the past.

Former US Middle East peace envoy and Afghanistan Commander General John Allen, speaking at the INSS conference, was reported to have been “hyperventilating” when he heard the terms of Trump’s deal, because it would go nowhere.

Kushner: Palestinians should give up ‘fairy tales’

Trump’s plan “will go over very badly in the US”, because it does not give “a Palestinian capital in Jerusalem, it makes the Jordan Valley not just a long-term presence, but is now annexed,” Allen is reported saying.

Allen also expressed scepticism over the annexation plans saying that “if the settlement issue is not resolved and ultimately becomes a permanent part of Israeli territory,” it will not be accepted.
