Rand Paul might be putting any criminal prosecution of the whitleblower in jeopardy with his stunt.
If Horowitz is the one to name him, and a Supreme Court Justice takes an action which solidifies no protection is granted, he has predetermined a judicial decision before any charged were filed. At very minimum, Roberts will have to recuse himself from any case involving this subject now. In a worst case scenario, his due process could be violated and no charges could come.
This was not the time or place for Rand to do this.
