mortality rate is staying low at ~ 2% but infection rate is pretty high. this leads me to believe the virus is a manufactured weapon that escaped accidentally. lots of deaths are easy to deal with. burrying bodies is cheap and easy but taking care of 1000's of highly contagious sick people requires alot of resources and would inflict the most damage to a target.
