Newbies – it may not have the appearance of such, but this board is a battleground for your mind. Guys like this try to sow discouragement – it's being used as a weapon against anyone who reads his screed.

We try to get you to think for yourself and, if you seriously want to learn how, will point you at some interesting stuff and let your initiative take over. That's the only "weapon" we have.

If you stay here long enough you'll come to realize that every single "point" he made is built on quicksand. But right now he probably looks legit pissed to you. He's not. It's an act.

For starters, is this guy an authentic Anon? If so and he is as upset as he claims, why wouldn't he just exit quietly and go somewhere to lick his wounds? If you'll do a bit of surfing backwards through the previous breads, you'll find that he has posted similar comments several times today. In other words, he's been here for hours after the first rant. Why would anyone THIS mad hang around? Shouldn't he be surfing porn or reading Kafka or digging into a steaming bowl of macaroni and habaneros … anything that would make him happier than he is here? This is the only life he has and we are making him miserable (he says).

So why is he still here?

He's still here ONLY because there is some sort of reward for being here. Either he gets his "kicks" antagonizing us (and now, you, too) or he's paid to be here. Possibly both.

The Big Book of AA has a phrase "there are such unfortunates. They seem to have been born that way." It's talking about the folks who can't seem to grasp simple truths which, in AA, are essential to success. This place hinges on some simple truths, too.

Rather than try to find some tiny grain of agreement with folks like this, set your mental filters and sail on … you have FAR too much reading ahead of you to waste time with these "unfortunates."

You've already learned one simple truth: this is not a comment board – it's a battlefield. There are many more small truths which, taken together, will paint an irrefutable picture.
