Justice Brett Kavanaugh has put his mark on the Supreme Court: adding pizza to the cafeteria menu.

As the most junior of the nine members of the court, Kavanaugh, 48, will sit on the cafeteria committee until a new justice is sworn in. Until then, he can make changes to the menu.

“When I arrived, I noticed the cafeteria did not serve pizza. I thought, ‘What an outrage,’ ” Kavanaugh told the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group, last year. “My legacy is secure. It’s fine by me if I’m ever known as the pizza justice.”

There are now three personal-size pizzas available: cheese for $7, pepperoni for $8, and a vegetarian option for $6.50. During his contentious confirmation hearing, he famously declared his fondness for beer. Alcoholic drinks, however, are not served in the cafeteria.

Justice Elena Kagan, 59, had a frozen yogurt machine added to the first-floor cafeteria when she sat on the committee. Justice Stephen Breyer, 81, expanded the salad bar and lobbied for the cafe to serve Starbucks coffee.
