Q's London Pics.

  1. The Winter Wonderland scene taken between 22 NOV 2013 and 5 JAN 2014 as per the opening and closing dates of the amusement park.

  1. Two individuals appear in both Winter Wonderland photos. Also, they appear together, interacting with each other.

  1. Same two individuals also appear in the red bus photo. Not together. One at the corner in front of the bus. The other at the corner on the other side of the street from the bus.

  1. In addition, two other individuals appear in both scenes. An older man appears in the bottom right corner of the wide Winter Wonderland photo. He also appears in the bottom left of the red bus photo. A younger man, in a hood winter coat, appears near to, but not interacting with, the older man. The younger man's hood lays on his shoulders/back. While they are captured near each other, and near the first set of two individuals, each does not interact with the other nor with the first individuals – at least in the photos.

  1. Apart from having been dropped by Q, and apart from the titles of the images, these individuals are links that place the two scenes – Winter Wonderland and the Red Bus – very close on the timeline. Both in terms of season and time of day. It is possible that the 2nd set of two individuals may be comprised of players, this is not necessary to link the photos on the timeline. If they are random entrants into these scenes, it would be quite the coincidence for all four to appear as they do in these Q photos. This suggests (not definitively) that the two scenes, like the two sets of individuals, may share a common route or means of travel between the two locations.

  1. The red bus features prominently in the Q photo of a bus stop. Or is it a bus stand? The bus is an old RML (Routemaster Lengthened). This type of bus was withdrawn from public service more than a decade ago. Many such buses are still on the roads of London as private hires. The RML entails a two-person operation. A driver upfront does not interact much with passengers. The bus is entered via an open platform in the rear where a conductor deals with passengers. The two communicate via a simple code of bell rings activated by the conductor pressing a button at the platform. The RML is a double decker and is an icon of London's identity.

  1. More could be said of double meanings of the red double decker bus. For now consider its name and its crew. Route Master. Driver. Conductor. Think double meanings such as conductor/ maestro (master)/ director. Such as driver (person)/ (locomotion mechanism)/ (causal factor)/ golf club. Consider relative location - upfront, behind. Consider interaction with passengers - semi-secluded or compartmentalized, public face and integrated. And so forth. Of course, consider the distinction between public service and private hire.

  1. Q may have been trolling when he dropped a photo that may prompt the question, what is between that guy's legs? Kek. And, what could that gal be carrying in that yuge handbag? Kek. It is interdasting that the two take photos of themselves just as a Q photo is taken of them on the scene. Incrimination by selfie? Kek.

  1. Note that the large bright sign on the coaster ride in the background of the wide Winter Wonderland scene shows "US" dimly lit by ambient light. The self-lit letters are "WILDE MA" within which is the anagram LAW DIEM. Might Q be hinting that the per diem on this trip might reveal something unlawful or shady under the law?

  1. The red bus is like a mirror in the Q photo. Its shiny upper panel and windows reflect the building behind the camera. This helped locate the scene at 1-2 Coventry Street. That location underwent considerable changes. For example, between January and March 2014 the building in the background, on the left side of frame, was draped and its insides demolished/ replaced. Only the facade was preserved. And, of course, its location on prime real estate. This helped to date the bus stop sign which was different prior to construction and after completion of construction. That goes some way to confirming the linkage in the timeline discussed above.

  1. Further to point 9, this bus stop is not on a regular Transport for London public route. But it does serve tour buses. Particularly the kind that have the upper deck opened up – exposed. The bus stop sign reads, in part, The Original Tour. It also indicates that the stop is moar like a stand. In any case, there is a hint of the sign in the Winter Wonderland scene: note the roundel-like object next to the theme park sign (green and in shape of an evergreen tree) at the center of the wide photo and also in the upper left corner of the photo pointed toward the ground. Moar on that later.

Much moar to follow.

For now, Anons, does this info graphic activate memories and pattern-finds?

The Route.

The RML in Q photo carries no adverts and is distinguished from an RM by its middle window which is squarish. The bus is based on the RM and is lengthened (hence the L in RML) to include an additional 8 passenger seats. Since their withdrawal from public service, the RMLs are not a common sight on this part of Coventry Street. More common are the open-top buses some of which are modified RMs or RMLs. If not for the enclosed upper deck on the RML in the Q photo, there would be little, if any, reflection of the building behind the camera.

I think this reflection hints at someone watching the watchers, as it were, as well as pointing at the rarity of this particular bus in this particular location. The upper deck is not exposed, right? It is an iconic bus, the long double decker, in the streets of London. The RMs and RMLs have since been exported across UK and beyond – throughout the world finding new service. Much of it private hire type service.

Significance in the context of the Q London Pics? Perhaps.
