This is not entirely incorrect.
Social media was used as a vehicle to defang the internet. These platforms are completely ineffective for discussion and learning. While forums may be namefagging, the name is optional to extend to other platforms and such.
Phone-based internet exploded under social media with notifications constantly popping up to distract people from their daily lives and to entice them to text over talk. Google's array of mind-destroying programs has found its way into businesses where retarded yuppy managers think there is an app that will solve their productivity and management challenges.
As in… Internal Tech support using Google Hangouts over ticketing systems retarded.
Consider, also, the metadata issue. Google can map hardware router locations using your phone's WiFi and GPS. Any time you sign into a wired network using any account Google knows of, they map it's physical location (and can even use delta times if you shut your phone off to estimate a radius of where that hardware is).
This means that anyone using those networks can be located, even if they are not using Google.
Not that apple has a lack of the same capability (or isn't working with Google).
It's an orwellian nightmare and was poised just in time for a Hillary win in the WH as everything from our phones to the air conditioner to the fucking toaster is connected to the 'internet of things' - or "Unicomp" for those of us who have read Ira Levin.
