Could GPS Spoofing have been used to bring down Kobe's helicopter?
For anybody digging on this, please note that the helicopter was transmitting ADS-B. This means that at least one of the GPS receivers included WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) which receives not just from GPS satellites, but also correction and integrity signals from non-GPS communication satellites. That particular receiver would report "no valid GPS data" if just GPS was being jammed or the signals were being tampered with.
Not saying it couldn't be done, but this is a very advanced form of navigation with a focus on signal integrity.
