How To Convert iPhone Photos Back to JPG Format

 

Go to iOS Settings and swipe down to Camera. It's buried in the 6th block, the one that has Music at the top.

Tap Formats.

Tap Most Compatible to set the default photo format to JPG. See the screenshot.

I can't test as don't have an iphone, so not sure if Apple differentiate at all between .jpeg and .jpg - if not there are app's in the store to convert, if you're so inclined - e.g.

I'm not an iphone user so failing to help fully.

 

Can you rename the file? (possibly a long tap on the pic?) If you can, simply renaming from xxxx.jpeg to xxxx.jpg should work - they are essentially the same format - it's just 4 character '.jpeg' file extension that doesn't work here.

 

I understand about not wanting to install an app.
