Can I make a suggestion? The first one (with Biden) would be far more powerful if instead of "you" it is changed to "we" and "us" - it may sound silly but that change will make it relevant to everyone, and people of all groups will instinctively see it as coming from someone in their own in-group and therefore be receptive to it.
Using language like "you" makes is something that is coming from out-group - someone else telling them, and people instinctively are less receptive.
