Report: Trump to Release Israeli Spy Jonathan Pollard to Israel to Aid Netanyahu's Re-election

President Trump is allegedly set to release Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard to Israel in the coming weeks to aid Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's re-election campaign.

President Obama first released Pollard from prison in 2015 to soften the blow of the Iran nuclear deal but insisted he not be allowed to travel to Israel.

From Times of Israel, "Likud source: Jonathan Pollard will be brought to Israel before election":

After the unveiling of the Trump peace plan and the expected imminent release of Israeli-American backpacker Naama Issachar from Russian prison, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could soon pull another rabbit out of his hat, ahead of the Knesset elections: bringing Jonathan Pollard to Israel.

A source in Netanyahu’s Likud party has told Zman Yisrael, The Times of Israel’s Hebrew-language sister site, that Netanyahu is aiming to have the former spy land on the tarmac at Ben Gurion Airport a week before the March 2 vote.

Pollard, who served 30 years in prison for providing sensitive intelligence to Israel, made a public appeal to Netanyahu in August and asked him to intervene on his behalf to urge US President Donald Trump to commute his parole, so he could care for his sick wife.

Netanyahu attempted to blackmail President Bill Clinton with racy Monica Lewinsky tapes to get Pollard released according to Daniel Halper's 2014 book, "Clinton Inc: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine."

Trudeau Minister: All News Websites Must Get a Government License for Approved Content

The globalists and international left will not stop until they have complete control over your every thought.

Justin Trudeau’s “Heritage Minister” Steven Guilbeault told CTV on Sunday that all news websites great and small must now get a government license.

The government will decide what voices will allowed for mass distribution.

This should scare the hell out of Canadians!

Are they that far gone that they don’t care that the leftist government can now control their access to information?

Congress Votes to Finally End 2002 War Authorization in Attempt to Stop Conflict with Iran

The U.S. House of Representatives voted last week to finally end a war authorization from 2002 in an attempt to reign President Donald Trump in as tensions with Iran increase.

“Congress has a responsibility to do their job and follow the Constitution and debate and vote on the use of the force in matters of war and peace,” said Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), who added that this law “allows war without end — this country can’t tolerate that.”

“The need to hold this president in check has never been higher,” said Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA). “The worst thing we could do is let this president off the hook.”

The Democrats are trying to rebuke President Trump but this legislation would end a power that was used by his previous two predecessors to justify war in the Middle East as well. It would amount a significant check against endless wars that have grown unpopular with the American public, which is why it attracted some Republican support in Congress as well.

House Freedom Caucus members Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Ken Buck (R-CO) penned an op/ed urging for their colleagues to support the measure and restore war-making authority to its Constitutional bounds.

“This airstrike was fully justified by Article II of the Constitution, which grants the president, in his role as “Commander in Chief,” the authority to respond to imminent threats,” Buck and Biggs wrote, defending President Trump’s controversial assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani via drone strike at a Baghdad airport last month.

“Additionally, the president’s action can be justified by an authorization for the use of military force (AUMF) granted by Congress in 2002 – but Congress must now revisit and reform this nearly twenty-year-old AUMF, as well as a second anti-terrorism AUMF dating to 2001,” they added.

They argue for a new and improved AUMF that doesn’t give the President an open-ended mandate to conduct war in the Middle East at his own discretion without any input from Congress.

Nearly 1 in 5 Antibiotics Prescribed to Medicaid Patients Without Infection Diagnosis

A new Northwestern Medicine study has found alarmingly high rates of inappropriate antibiotic prescribing for patients on Medicaid, the public health insurance program for those with lower incomes.

Using Medicaid insurance claims between 2004 and 2013, the study evaluated 298 million antibiotic prescriptions filled by 53 million patients on Medicaid, the largest source of health care coverage in the U.S. It found 45% of Medicaid antibiotics were prescribed without any clear rationale: 17% of antibiotics were prescribed at an office visit during which no infection-related diagnosis was made, and 28% of antibiotic prescriptions were not associated with an office visit at all.

Prior to this study, antibiotic prescribing for Medicaid patients in the U.S. had not been comprehensively measured. It will be published Feb. 3 in the February issue of the journal Health Affairs.

The researchers used Medicaid data to determine whether patients made a clinic visit in the seven days prior to filling the antibiotic prescription and, when there was a visit, they checked whether the billing diagnosis specified an infection as the cause for the visit.

Antibiotics treat bacterial infections, and are used to prevent infection in organ transplants, surgery and the treatment of cancer. However, they also expose patients to adverse drug events like nausea, diarrhea – including the life-threatening Clostridioides difficile, or “C. diff” – rashes, yeast infections and life-threatening allergic reactions.

“Indiscriminate use of antibiotics is increasing the prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and rendering them ineffective,” said senior study author Dr. Jeffrey Linder, chief of general internal medicine and geriatrics in the department of medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

“It’s concerning that nearly half of antibiotics are prescribed without a visit or without a clear rationale,” Linder said. “We are not keeping track of and do not have a system to ensure high-quality antibiotic prescribing in the U.S.”

The study raises questions about the effectiveness of efforts to curb inappropriate antibiotic prescribing. Clinical policies are in place to help decrease the rate of antibiotic prescribing in the U.S., which is about double that of many other countries, but those policies are limited, Linder said.

Ambulatory antibiotic stewardship policies, which focus on prescribing decisions made when patients tell doctors about possible infections, don’t capture antibiotics prescribed outside of a doctor visit or without clear indications for use. The study found current ambulatory antibiotic stewardship policies missed 45% of antibiotic prescriptions.

“If we’re thinking about how to improve antibiotic use, we need to understand the context in which antibiotics are being prescribed,” said lead author Dr. Michael Fischer, a physician in the Brigham’s Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics and an associate professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. “If prescribing is taking place outside of an office visit, most of the approaches we’re taking to combat antibiotic overuse will miss those completely.”

The study authors acknowledge a critical question remains: What occurred clinically in the many cases when antibiotic prescriptions were dispensed without an office visit?

“Since our analyses were based on claims data, we don’t have access to medical records to determine what interactions took place between patients and prescribing clinicians,” Fischer said. “We assume that most of these prescriptions were associated with a telephone interaction, although some communication may have occurred over email, via web portals or in informal, uncaptured visits. Most of these encounters would be blind spots for the interventions designed to improve antibiotic use.”
