Me: Do you believe the news has always reported the truth?

Friend: No, they've always lied to us.

Me: Wait! So you know they've always lied but now you think they're telling the truth about Trump?

Friend: Yes. It's so obvious.

I can't do anything with that!

Yep. Sometimes it's best to just take a step back and hope they'll be able to recognize the truth when it comes out. Hope they're not one of the 4-6%. I do have compassion for those who don't know they're being lied to. Anyway, we do the best we can. Thanks, Anons!
